School Talent Awards
The School talent awards were introduced in the year 2004, It was felt that spotting talent at a young age and recognising is important to generate interest in the subject. Thus, KVRSS started activities for school children and the first event was conducted in collaboration with APCOST (Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science & Technology).
Thirty school students from various districts of Andhra Pradesh in the age group of 10 to 17 were selected every year to represent at the National Children's Science held by Department of Science & Technology, India. KVRSS Society conducts an interactive session for these 30 students to prepare them for the National programme. A panel of eminent educationists interacts with these children and selects 6 meritorious students.
The event is being conducted for both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh since 2015. The selected candidates are presented with a merit certificate, a trophy and a scholarship of Rs 5,000 per annum till they finish schooling. The scholarship scheme was introduced in 2008 and till date more 60 students have received the scholarships.
Students mostly from various government schools and zila parishad schools participate in the event.
