Research Awards

Awardees Till Date

The Society's activities started with this event in 2001. The event is held in the states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Awards are given in all basic sciences, viz. Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Mathematics.
The awards are presented to young scientists, below 30 years of age, from various branches of basic sciences every year. The award carries a cash award of Rs. 20,000/- only and a trophy for the winner and a cash award of Rs.10,000/- only and a trophy to the runners-up in each category.
Eligibility Criteria
For the year 2019-20
The Candidate applying for the Research Award

  • Should have completed or should be carrying out research work in any of the Universities / Deemed Universities / other Research Institutions situated in the States of Telangana / Andhra Pradesh / Karnataka / Tamil Nadu / Kerala and should be a registered student in any recognized University in India.

(Candidates registered in any recognized University in Telangana / Andhra Pradesh / Karnataka / Tamil Nadu / Kerala and working in any University / Research Institutions anywhere in India are also eligible.)

  • Should have registered for Ph.D. on or before 30/06/2018.
  • The research paper to be presented for the award should be part of the doctoral research work carried out or being carried out by the candidate. A certificate from the supervisor to this effect is to be submitted along with the application.
  • Should be under 30 years of age as on 31/12/2019.
  • The students for awards shall be selected based on the recommendations of the panel of judges after careful evaluation of research papers and the presentations by the candidates in each category.
  • The Committee shall announce the names of the Candidates selected for the awards on the day of the Annual Function to be held in the month of April 2020.

Note

    • The decision of the panel of judges for the awards is final and binding and no discussion will be entertained in this matter.
    • The eligible candidates should fill in the application as per the enclosed format and attach annexures wherever necessary.
    • Soft copy of the completed application form should reach us at drkvraoss@gmail.com or research@kvrss.org on or before January 31, 2020.
    • Candidates who have already been selected for an award in the previous years cannot apply.

    (v) Date of registration for Ph.D. and Name of the University where registered:
    (Attach a copy of the letter from the University duly attested by the Supervisor)
    (vi) Whether recipient of any scholarship/assistance, its period and value and name of institution
    (vii) Scientific Field for which the candidate intends to be considered for the award:
    Chemistry / Physics / Biology / Mathematics (strike off those which are not applicable)
    (viii) Name and address of the Research Supervisor/Guide
    (ix) Broad Area of Research of the Supervisor/Guide
    (x) Topic of the Doctoral Research work of the candidate
    (Attach a small write up of the work)
    (xi) Topic and full text of the paper to be presented for Award competition
    The paper shall cover the following aspects:
    (a) Present status of knowledge in the area of research activity
    (b) Significance and Uniqueness of the work
    (c) Specific objectives of the work
    (d) Methodology & Experimental Design
    (e) Results so far achieved and
    (f) Potential applications of the Research Activity, if any
    (g) Relevance to Indian Context
    * The paper to be presented for the award should be duly certified by the
    Research Supervisor / Guide
    * Include a soft copy of paper/s published (if any)
    (xii) Have you applied before for the award, if so, in which year?
    (xiii) Address for Correspondence with Applicant Mobile No. & E-mail address.

    * All out-station Candidates whose papers are selected for presentation shall be reimbursed to-and-fro sleeper class fare.
