About KVRSS

Dr. K. V. Rao Scientific Society was formed in 2001 with a view to promote and popularise science, particularly among school children and enthuse and support young scientists in pursuit of their scientific activities.

KVRSS is a totally non-profit organisation and till a couple of years ago the Society has bootstrapped by raising funds from close friends and family members of Dr. Rao.

The Society has successfully established as the premier non-governmental organization for promoting and popularising science in all the southern states of India over the last 20 years.

Armed with the insights gained through conduct of numerous programs, KVRSS plans to expand reach and sphere of activities. It plans to develop into an institution with a pool of scientists where leading scientific work can be done and establish itself as an organization par excellence in its pursuit of popularising and promoting science throughout India.

Evolution to Impact

Impact of KVRSS

Two major projects of KVRSS fructified in 2021-22. The Science Innovation Centre (KVRSS-SIC) and Mobile Science Lab (KVRSS-MSL). The two projects have been envisaged to give school students a fun - filled and hands-on experience in learning the concepts of Science and are aimed at particularly those schools which lack adequate lab facilities, both government and private. The innovation Centre is located in KVRSS office and caters to school students in the nearby areas whereas, Mobile Lab is designed to cater to schools in and around Hyderabad . Due to the pandemic, the facilities were only able to start operating from April 2022.

The Society is registered under the Public Societies Registration Act, has 80G exemption under Income Tax Act in perpetuity and is also registered under the FCRA Act and is eligible for foreign donations".
